Is a destination
wedding right for you?

Most people love the IDEA of a destination wedding!  Multiple days of celebrating with your family and friends in paradise, a beautiful beach, bottomless drinks and 24 hour room service.  You get to enjoy all of this and dedicate your life to the one you love most!  It's basically what fairytales are made of.  And what most people don't know is that destination weddings cost a fraction of weddings of the same caliber in the United States!

Let's be honest - a destination wedding is not the right choice for everyone. There are many unique challenges that come with the territory.  Before we begin planning, let's consider some of the following scenarios first as we really want to make sure this is the right fit for you!

Destination Wedding Challenges

We recommend inviting all the guests you would have invited to your wedding in the United States.  If guests aren't able to make it, there's a chance they will still send a wedding gift - score!

However, be prepared to receive RSVPs from only 30%-50% of your invitees.  Asking your guests to invest time and money in attending your destination wedding is a big ask.  Some guests may want to attend but will have insufficient funds, vacation time, childcare or unstable health.  Often the majority of your invite list will have to decline the invitation (unless that invitation also comes with you offering to pay for their stay as well).  Here's some advice - don't take it personally if your guests can't make it.
